Do you want to get away and let yourself go? On the southern most tip of the Island of Huahine (between Tahiti and Bora Bora), in the heart of the Avea bay, lies Le Mahana Huahine.
Imagine: you revive in a tropical garden, a step away from the fine white sand beach, while sipping your favorite cocktail on the terrace of one of the 32 Polynesian style bungalows. At the Relais Mahana, the Avea Bar and the Te Nahe Restaurant titillate your taste buds with the Polynesian specialties or a more traditional fare.
Huahine is positioned in the Society Islands archipelago and is 50 kilometers from Bora Bora and 175 kilometers from Tahiti. From Papeete, the capital of Tahiti, one can reach Huahine by inter island commercial flights or by boat. Steeped in a very strong history and antiquated culture Huahine shelters some of the most rare and fascinating archaeological sites of Polynesia called “Marae”. This Island is truly a little paradise and a haven of peace lulled by Polynesian rhythms.

Deluxe Beach Bungalow – Filled with exotism, just a few paces away from the beach, the Relais Mahana Deluxe Beach Bungalows are very spacious and are ideal to while away romantic evenings, however, a 3rd person can be accommodated. 2 persons (+1 with a supplementary rate) A 50 sq. meter bungalow + a 14 sq. meter private tropical garden. A shower area opening out to a private tropical garden, a king size bed for 2 overhead ceiling fan, mini bar, cable television, telephone, ADSL inlet.

Welcome to the Gourmets!
At the Relais Mahana, the Chef Michel Prat and his culinary team prepare enjoyable meals. On the menu: typical Tahitian recipes or these recipes mixed to advantage with European fare. All gourmets will be satisfied.
The Te Nahe restaurant and her panoramic terrace (with a beach view) know how to tickle your taste buds. The different menus (breakfast, mid day snack, dinner or buffet) offers a large choice for both adults and children. A half pension formula is also available. Also, each Saturday, the dance group from Parea “Tamarii Teanata” adds vitality to your evening. A really refreshing oasis, the Avea Bar is the ideal place to taste our delicious local cocktails.
Activities
Do you want to move? Or are you the home body? To enable you to maximize your time and enjoyment in or on the lagoon, we have kayaks, snorkeling equipment, beach towels and beach lounges that are at your disposal on a simple request. If you prefer to visit the Island of Huahine on a bicycle, you may rent beach cruisers or trail bikes. Bicycles are available for adults and children; for the most part there are baby seats.
Some of our suppliers would like to kidnap you to take their excursion. As an example, you may participate in:
• a guided 4 wheel drive of the Island
• a guided Island tour by a motorized outrigger canoe (with or without a picnic on an islet)
• a combined 4 wheel drive tour and motorized outrigger canoe tour (picnic included)
• a yacht cruise in the lagoon for a full day, half a day, or a 2 hour sunset cruise
Excursions
The idea of sipping a cocktail on a shaded white sand beach… Can you imagine this?
While on an excursion to the Motu Ara Ara on Huahine… this is possible… the ocean, white sand, coconut palms… A meeting and relaxing house.
For some time this idea stayed on the drawing board… it became an obsession… then it became a reality. We wanted to organize our own lagoon tour, departing from our beach, on our canoe to go to our private motu (islet) for our guests. Since December 2004 all this came together and we were able to add this tour of the motu Ara Ara, a 15 minute navigation from the Relais Mahana.
The program for the day:
You will leave the Hotel dock on our motorized canoe, comfortable and shaded from the sun, for a day filled with unforgettable moments, while discovering Huahine Iti, the smallest and most forgotten part of Huahine.
You will feed the enormous blue eyed eels, visit the overwater, Huahine black pearl farm and let yourself go in the Coral gardens while snorkeling with the winking clown fish.
Upon your arrival on the Ara’ara islet, you will be welcomed by Norma and her husband who will prepare succulent, mouth watering freshly caught lagoon fish and a host of fresh tropical fruit.
As all good things must come to an end, so does your tour, with a visit to the rays that swim majestically with unashamed grace across the limpid blue lagoon.

For the Yachtsmen
The Relais Mahana invites you to drop anchor in the bay, in front of the Hotel. You may also tie your dinghy up to our otherwise private dock, when coming ashore. This way you are welcome to our Restaurant, bar and boutique or even to renting a bungalow for the time that it takes you to become landlubbers again. By the same token you may also participate in the different activities and demonstrations proposed to our clientele.
