Matangi Private Island Resort is a family owned boutique resort located on 240 private acres in beautiful, lush northern Fiji. Accommodations

All Bures feature air-conditioning and ceiling fans, 4-poster Sealy – king-size beds, private facilities, outdoor lava-rock showers, Pure Fiji bath amenities, bathrobe and slippers, hair dryer, in room electronic safe, I-pod docking station, fully stocked mini bar (additional cost based on usage), fresh baked cookies, French press coffee/tea making facilities, large sitting area, private veranda, beach towels and beach hammock.
Oceanview Bure x 4 – situated on the southwestern side of the resort with ocean views. Bedding consists of 1 King bed and additional single bed can be added.
Beachfront Bure x 4– situated on the western side of the resort, all newly renovated. Bedding consists of 1 King bed and additional single bed can be added.
Treehouse x 3 – situated on the western side of the resort, with open air spa baths on a large private deck, featuring a day bed. Bedding consists of 1 King bed only.
Two Bedroom/Two Bathroom Bure x 1- situated on its own private rocky point, this bure is the largest of our accommodations and is suitable for 4 adults. Bedding consists of 1 King bed per bure. Additional single bed can be added to each bure. Can be sold to one or two couples.

Dining

Rates provided include all meals. At Matangi expect Pacific Rim cuisine with a distinctive flavor of the Fiji Islands. Many of the vegetables now come from the on site organic gardens. Lunch and dinner includes vegetarian dishes and special dietary needs can be catered to. (Advance notice is requested.) Freshly baked breads accompany all of the meals, gluten free options are available. Coffee & tea, freshly baked treats are available all day in the dining room along with pre-dinner snacks at the bar between 6:00pm and 7:00pm. Breakfast 7:00am – 9:00am – Full breakfast with hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed tropical juices, muffins, pastries and yogurt. A hot cooked breakfast is also offered with a choice of banana pancakes, French toast, breakfast burritos, eggs (cooked to order), potatoes, bacon, ham and sausage. Homemade jams are also available! Lunch: 12:00pm – 2:00pm – Appetizer (light salad) + Main course (choice of 3) + Dessert. Dinner: 7:00pm – 9:00pm – Appetizer (choice of 2) + Main course (choice of 3)+ Dessert (choice of 2).

How to get there

The resort is accessible via the Taveuni Matei Airport, 8 miles off Matangi Island. All guests are met on arrival by the Resort's mini van driver for their car transfer to the landing for their boat transfer across to Matangi Island. The car & boat transfers take approximately 45 mintutes.
