Day 2: It’s an early rise for an exciting morning with breathtaking views of sunrise at Kata-Tjuta (The Olgas). Get your walking shoes on for an 8 kilometre hike through the spectacular Valley of the Winds, home to the mythical corkwood-tree woman. Learn about the fauna and flora native to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta region and the extensive fire management practices which are employed in the national park. Wander amongst the red domes and through the winding creek beds of Walpa Gorge. Return to the campsite for lunch and farewells before the return journey to Alice Springs. Tour concludes at approximately 5.00pm, at which time hotel drop offs will commence. (B, L)

All tents contain 2 single beds. Guests travelling alone may be required to share with a member of the same sex.
Shared bathroom facilities with hot water are located near the campsite.

2 Day Uluru & Kata Tjuta 4WD Eco Experience – Standard

Day 1: A Way outback Desert Safaris vehicle will pick you up from your hotel to commence a two day Uluru and Kata Tjuta 4WD Eco Experience. Journey towards the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, with refreshment stops along the way at Camels Australia (Stuarts Well), Mt Ebenezer and the Imanpa Art Gallery, Mount Conner (a mesa tableland), Lake Amadeus (a giant salt pan) and finally Curtin Springs Cattle Station before entering Ayers Rock Resort at approximately midday. Enjoy lunch at Desert Gardens Hotel before meeting fellow travellers arriving directly into Uluru, and commence an afternoon tour of the Uluru Kata-Tjuta National Park. Visit the spiritually powerful Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and experience the Walpa Gorge walk, approximately one hour in duration and suitable for most fitness levels. Learn of the geology and botanical adaptations of the area as well as the cultural significance to the local Anangu people. The striking colour and sheer enormity of these ancient dome like structures is awe inspiring and a highly treasured location to the local people. Head back to the hotel to check in. Then travel to a remote location to observe the infamous changing colours of Uluru and Kata Tjuta at sunset, accompanied by canapés and wine or cool refreshments. At the conclusion of sunset, return to the hotel to enjoy dinner. Overnight accommodation at Desert Gardens Hotel – Standard Room. (L, D)
Day 2: Depart the Resort under darkness this morning and travel to a location to witness the birth of a new day, observing the sun’s rays enveloping the mighty monolith of Uluru, with Kata Tjuta in the distance. Guests electing to climb Uluru will be supplied with a breakfast box and taken directly to the base of Uluru to commence the 2 to 2.5 hour climb. After sunrise, those not climbing will return to the hotel for breakfast, check out and luggage storage. Then rendezvous with guests who earlier climbed Uluru and experience a base walk where you will learn of the creation myths that surround the area and the fascinating geology of Uluru. There is time to visit the Cultural Centre and its Interpretative Display and Galleries before returning to the hotel. Tour concludes at approximately 12noon, or if departing Ayers Rock, at Ayers Rock Airport at approximately 12.30pm. (B)
