1.5 Hour Sightseeing Cruise
Board your River City Cruises vessel at Southbank Parklands, Jetty A (in front of the Wheel of Brisbane) to commence a 1.5 hour sightseeing cruise. Travel aboard MV Neptune, a classic timber cruiser built in 1966. Cruise beneath the Captain Cook Bridge, following the curve of the river as it rounds the Botanical Gardens. Glide past the Central Business District where prestige office and multi-million dollar apartments occupy some of the most sought after river front sites in the city. Travelling beneath the city’s landmark Story Bridge, the cruise rounds Kangaroo Point and continues downstream to Newstead where the Breakfast Creek enters the river. Arrive in Dunwich and drive to Brown Lake for freshwater swimming and an opportunity to take photos. Drive through the Blue Lake National Park to Main Beach where there is 32 kilometres of white sand and the opportunity for Pippy digging and swimming. Journey to Point Lookout North Gorge for the “Gorge Walk” where there is the opportunity to spot turtles, dolphins, manta rays and sharks. Arrive at Flinders Beach for a barbecue lunch on the beach. Upon arrival enjoy the island leisure facilities before lunch. After lunch, board a Desert Safari vehicle for some thrilling “beach driving” and sand boarding. Return to the resort for a presentation on dolphin behaviour in the Marine Education Centre.
