Paul Gauguin Cruises

Paul Gauguin designed specifically to sail the shallow seas of Tahiti and French Polynesia, visiting small ports that larger ships can’t reach and effortlessly blending into the stunning natural beauty of the South Seas. She offers an extension of the informal, relaxing environment of the islands, coupled with five-star service, comfort, and luxury. Spacious suites and staterooms (more than 70% with private balconies), an onboard water sports marina, a choice of three open-seating dining venues, and an extensive spa are among her luxurious attributes. The crew, a beloved troupe of Gauguines (local Tahitians who serve as cruise staff, entertainers, and storytellers), adds the unique personality of Tahiti to every sailing. The atmosphere aboard the ship radiates warmth, informality, and Polynesian flair.

Tahiti & Society Islands | 7-night cruise

In 1891, when Paul Gauguin arrived in Tahiti, he captured the charm, culture and languid grace of the natives in oils. You won’t find his paintings here, but the original models still call this piece of French Polynesia home. This 7-night itinerary is perfect for those who want a core Polynesian experience.
Call on Raiatea and its reef-bound lagoon and Taha’a, it’s companion Island, where you’ll enjoy a full day of exploration. Then sail to Bora Bora, and her siren sister, Moorea. There’s a reason these islands are world-renowned – their beauty is unmatched.

Society Islands & Tuamotus | 10-night cruise

Visit the gracious Society Islands, including Huahine, with its stunning crystalline lagoon. The Tuamotu Archipelago awaits you next. Comprised of very low-lying atolls, none of the chain’s many islets rise more than ten feet above sea level. Visit Rangiroa, home to the second-largest lagoon in the world. It is noted for its fantastic diving – you may see rays, sharks, dolphins, and myriad small reef fish. Go on to call at legendary Bora Bora, Taha’a, and Moorea.

Cook Islands & Society Islands | 11-night cruise

On this South Pacific Odyssey, you’ll discover the isle of Huahine, renowned for its spectacular rain forests. Then experience the unique majesty of the Cook Islands. Arid Aitutaki is virtually flat-so much so that you can spot the ocean from nearly any point on the island, sitting in sharp contrast to sister island Rarotonga’s jagged peaks and deep valleys. Rarotonga’s fertile slopes of red earth and sparkling aquamarine lagoon call to mind the classic Victorian ideal of paradise, which the island was called by its first European explorers. Return to the Society Islands for days in alluring Bora Bora, Taha’a, Moorea, and Papeete.

Marquesas, Tuamotus & Society Islands | 14-night cruise

On this two-week cruise, you’ll first call at the breathtaking isle of Bora Bora. Then it’s on to the Tuamotus, specifically Fakarava, an atoll known for its pristine beaches, rare wildlife, and exceptional diving. Next, explore the mist-covered Marquesas, where you’ll discover the islands of Fatu Hiva, Hiva Oa, Ua Huka, and Nuku Hiva. On these wild islands you’ll find waterfalls, wild stallions, tiki sculptures, and an arboretum, among other delights. More enjoyment awaits on Taha’a (Motu Mahana), our own private motu, and a day at spectacular Moorea.

Australs & Society Islands |11-night cruise

During the height of the Austral summer (July to October), humpback whales teem in the waters off Rurutu, delighting divers with their graceful antics and haunting songs. The Gauguin pays a visit to this special sanctuary on a unique itinerary that also features the idyllic Society Islands. Don’t miss this one-time sailing, as Paul Gauguin Cruises Chairman Richard Bailey joins us aboard.
