Scuba Club Cozumel is a favorite dedicated dive resort among discerning scuba divers. The resort is located on the waterfront one mile south of downtown, but is very secluded from the cruise ship crowds. The gated multi-level building of Spanish-Colonial architecture faces the waterfront, offering ocean view rooms to nearly all guests. Scuba Club Cozumel was built by divers, for divers, so you’ll enjoy that nearly everything revolves around diving activities. This might be why you’ll find guests there who are repeat customers year after year.
Built in 1976 as Cozumel’s first dedicated diver’s resort, Scuba Club Cozumel is still a very intimate place where Cozumel Aficionados find convenience and good value that provides all services in one convenient place.
Scuba Club Cozumel offers morning two-tank boat dives every day as well as free unlimited shore diving to all guests. Additional afternoon boat dives, dusk dives, wreck dives and night dives are available for groups of six divers or more. The shore diving right in front of the resort is Cozumel muck-diving at its best and is very popular among underwater photographers and videographers. It is not unusual to find guests diving the shore all day and even all night long.
If you’re not a scuba diver, the on-site dive shop offers PADI certifications available from experienced PADI scuba instructors. The Discover Scuba class is a great way to try diving for the first time.
There is also a fully-stocked dive and gift shop immediately across the street from the resort. Scuba Club Cozumel’s fleet of seven comfortable dive boats have experienced local captains and amazing crew. All the boats are equipped with Oxygen emergency kits, marine radios, sunny and shaded areas and a marine head.
The activities outside the resort are easy to walk or taxi to. Sunday nights are a great time to walk into town to enjoy the local culture without the cruise ship crowds. Many guests rent a car on the day before their departure to drive around the island to visit ancient Mayan ruins, beach bars and enjoy the secluded beaches on the other side of the island.
The rooms at Scuba Club Cozumel are unique with spanish tile floors, air conditioning, ceiling fans, individual bathroom & shower, fridge. Rooms are available with king beds, queens, double queens, twins and combinations for single, double or triple accommodations. Most of the rooms have a private patio or balcony and a place outside to hang your wetsuits.
Dining at Scuba Club Cozumel is offered at two on-site restaurants. Breakfast is served buffet style featuring multiple choices of hot American and Mexican specialties, as well as fresh fruits, juices and pastries. Lunch, which starts at 7:00 am is available all afternoon or until the last dive boat gets back from the morning dives. They offer a buffet salad bar, daily Mayan special, a menu of American favorites, a menu of Mexican favorites, and will cater to your custom requests, such as vegetarian or vegan.
All Scuba Club Cozumel packages include rooms, meals and diving. They also offer a “lite” option that excludes dinner.
