Matamanoa Island is a small, intimate and secluded Fiji Resort set in the beautiful Mamanuca Islands approximately 1 1/2 hours west of Nadi International Airport by car and launch. Matamanoa is the perfect place for a destination wedding.

Matamanoa boasts an elegant deck over looking the pacific or a beautiful white sand beach so you have a choice as to where you tie the knot. To keep the feeling of romance and sophistication, Matamanoa Island Resort has adopted a year round policy of not permitting children under the age of 12 years.

Matamanoa Island can offer you total relaxation or a wide range of leisure activities and cultural excursions. Swim in the fresh water pool or in the beautiful Pacific Ocean, play tennis or sip a cocktail at the Bar as you watch the sun set and take all the time you need to discover the magic of this beautiful Island.

The Wedding Ceremony

The groom stands at the wedding venue under the arch, a table is beautifully decorated and placed in front – the bride is escorted from her Bure or Hotel Room by two Fijian Warriors and one Bridesmaid (dressed in traditional Fijian Masi, Warriors carry Fijian Clubs) – she is led through to the main complex pass the bar and patio area to the groom – in case of the venue being on the beach, she is led from the patio down the steps and along the beach – if the staff choir is chosen they are behind the Warriors singing Fijian Hymns.

Once at the venue she stands beside the groom under the arch and the Warriors and Bridesmaid stand behind the couple – the Minister or Celebrant commences the Ceremony, this is approximately 10 minutes duration.

The photographer takes photographs from the time the Bride leaves her Bure or Room and also after the Ceremony. If the couple have selected to have Video then the same applies.

After the Ceremony is completed the couple return to the Bar/Patio area and the staff sing a special wedding song to them.
The couple sit in a specially reserved area of the dining room, this area is decorated with Tapa, the arch is placed over the dining table, a special souvenir menu is printed for the couple as a keepsake, alternatively (weather permitting) the couple may wish to dine on the beach.

In the case of the couple dining with invited guests, then they may dine on the restaurant patio, around the pool under the stars or on the beach.
