Day 1:
A Cool Dingo Tours coach will pick you up from your Hervey Bay hotel for transfer to River Heads, the departure point of your tour. At 8.45am board the ferry for the 50 minute cruise across to World Heritage listed Fraser Island. Upon arrival meet your guide to commence a three day Cool Dingo tour. First stop is Basin Lake to get up close with resident freshwater turtles. Visit Central Station, a peaceful ancient rainforest and the reminders of a once bustling logging camp. Walk along the banks of Wanggoolba Creek, a flowing creek with lush rainforest and rare king ferns. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a secluded area. Visit Pile Valley and see towering satinay trees in the forest. Visit the white sandy beaches and clear waters of Lake MacKenzie. Enjoy a refreshing afternoon swim before heading back to Kingfisher Bay. Tour concludes at approximately 4.30pm. Enjoy a buffet dinner tonight. Overnight accommodation at Kingfisher Bay Resort – Wilderness Lodges. (L, D)
Day 2: An early morning start to explore Seventy-Five Mile Beach, an amazing beach highway. Visit Eli Creek, a great spot for a swim or float down this fast flowing freshwater creek which pours out 80 megalitres of water daily. Visit the wreck of the Maheno and marvel at the coloured sands of the Pinnacles. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a secluded area. After lunch visit Indian Head and climb to the top of this rocky headland for awesome beach and ocean views. Relax and refresh in Fraser’s unique Champagne Pool where you can chill out in these bubbling ocean rock pools. Tour concludes at approximately 4.30pm, at which time you will be transferred back to your hotel. Enjoy a buffet dinner tonight. Overnight accommodation at Kingfisher Bay Resort – Wilderness Lodges. Day 3: This morning leave luggage at the Wilderness Lodge storage area to be collected by porters. Enjoy a relaxed day visiting a few of Fraser Island’s lesser known treasures. Visit Lake Wabby and walk through the cool rainforest to beautiful Wabby, Fraser’s deepest lake and swimming hole. Trek over one of Fraser Island’s vast desert-like sand blows at Hammerstone Sandblow. Enjoy a poolside barbecue lunch. After lunch visit Lake Birrabeen with its sparkling clear waters and white beaches. Return to Kingfisher Bay Resort to meet the 5.00pm ferry to Hervey Bay. Tour concludes at approximately 5.50pm, at which time hotel drop offs will commence. (B, L)
