Activities
Snokeling off Bokissa - Walk out of your faré straight onto the water, and experience fantastic reef snorkeling only a stones throw away.
Ocean Kayak & Dugout Outrigger - If you want to explore slightly further a field take an ocean kayak or dugout outrigger for a spin. A circumnavigation of Bokissa island is possible in about 45 minutes in an ocean kayak. There also are traditional ni-vanuatuan dugout outriggers available for you to try.
Scuba Diving - Diving Vanuatu and the outer islands in particular offer incredible diving and the Santo region is a favorite for divers the world over. The water temperature is perfect. The visibility is to die for. The coral and fish life is abundant and curious but most important of all are the dives themselves.
Widely varied and catering to all levels of skill and interest, the dive sites around Santo and Bokissa have it all. During WWII, Espiritu Santo was a staging area for US forces in the South Pacific. As a result, there is not only a lot of military surplus on the island but also below on the seabed.
Struck by 'friendly' mines the SS President Coolidge now rests between 20 and 60m offering the worlds largest accessible wreck dive to anyone from novices to experts.
When the US armed forces left the region after the conflict, vast amounts of military surplus was literally driven into the ocean, now constituting the must see Million Dollar Point dive. Many, many more world-class dive sites dot the local underwater landscape including the USS Tucker and Henry Bounaud.
Rainforest Walks - Bokissa Island has an area of about 175 acres of which the resort occupies only a handful. The rest of the island is untouched virgin rainforest and pal-fringed beaches exclusive to Bokissa Eco guests. Don't forget to check out Bokissas bio-organic fruit and vegetable garden.
Malo River Tour - Kayak up the freshwater shallow freshwater Malo River. The river, populated by many fish and other marine species terminates in a large freshwater lake, perfect for snorkeling. Hammock Lazing - The number of hammocks on the island exceeds the number of farés so there is never trouble finding a shady spot by the beach. Read a book from our extensive library, have a nap or just soak up the atmosphere.
Prepared picnic hampers - Going adventuring, snorkeling, walking or just want to have a private lunch? Just ask for a prepared picnic lunch the night before and it will be ready in the morning.
Snorkelling trips - Many of the incredible dive sites in the Santo region are also excellent for snorkeling. A snorkeling trip to any of these sites is easily arranged for you and any number of fellow guests.
Crayfish Catching - At Bokissa the crayfish is served fresh and guests are encouraged to try their hand at catching one of these tasty morsels. The Ni-Vanuatu guides can show you the best spots and the best techniques.
Champagne beach & WWII tour - Take a few friends for a day trip to the pristine fine sand Champagne beach. On the way, check out a WWII plane crash, the famous Million-dollar point and the clarity of the Blue-hole. Deep Sea Fishing - Get up at the crack of dawn (or anytime) and take a few friends fishing for Marlin, Wahoo, Tuna and others. GPS locations of the best spots and the Bokissa boat crews will give you all the local knowledge you need to start bagging the big ones.
Swimming Pool & Pool bar - The resorts centre piece is a beautiful 25m freshwater swimming pool complete with swim-up bar. If you want to dry-off, feel free to enjoy a cocktail on one of the many deckchairs surrounding the pool.
