Cook Islands Rarotonga and Aitutaki Combo Packages

7 Nights at Rarotonga Beach Bungalows and 5 Nights Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa

Arrive into Rarotonga and enjoy seven nights at The lovely Rarotonga Beach Bungalows, a great place to base yourself to explore Rarotonga, before being transferred back to the airport for your short 40 minute flight to Aitutaki. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and taken to the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa where you can enjoy a further five nights.

Rarotonga Beach Bungalows

A warm Kia Orana (welcome, bienvenue, willkommen) to one of Rarotonga’s newest and most deluxe accommodations. Rarotonga Beach Bungalows fronts on a wide, ocean washed, white sand beach where the turquoise lagoon boasts one of the island’s safest swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking areas.

Located on the southern coast, which usually assures calm and fresh climatic conditions, our bungalows are situated in front of a ’Raui’ zone, where the entry to the lagoon is in a marine protected wildlife area. Thus, the tropical reef fish abound here in great numbers with various species of all colors imaginable. We encourage everyone to “get wet” swimming with the tropical fish that graze in the coral gardens at our doorstep.

Each of the five individual bungalows is a free standing ’ngutu’are’ (home away from home) and is 700 square feet in size. All of our identical, luxury accommodations feature wide, covered decks with teak furniture, intimate lounges with single day beds, kitchenettes with large refrigerator/freezers, tile counters with stainless steel sinks, gas cook tops, microwaves, toasters, kettles, and quality crockery/utensils/glassware, wood bar counters and dining areas, two wood-bladed ceiling fans, one large, air-conditioned bedroom with clock radio and quality king size bed (that can be split into two singles), a bathroom with wall mounted hairdryers and a unique tropical “garden” shower. There is complimentary Satellite Television, hidden valuables boxes, insect screened doors and windows and private telephone lines (International Direct Dial and Internet access are also available with credit card via the local telecommunications provider). There are also a variety of local restaurants for dining out.

The entire furniture theme is old style, tropical design made uniquely out of exotic wood. The mood and ’mana’ (feeling) of our interior decor strives to capture the local, native charm of yesteryear.

Conceptualized and built in the island style, each unit is elevated off the ground to allow cool breezes to circulate under the tile floor. To capture the Polynesian flavor, the exterior roofs are lined with coconut thatch, the ceilings decorated with island cloth, and the interior walls covered with split, woven bamboo. White sand, Areca palms and rock gardens surround the private bungalows.

Many activities are available such as snorkeling, nature walks, jeep safaris, guided lagoon tours, scuba diving, car/scooter rental, game fishing, golf, hiking, bikes, black pearl shopping, Cultural Village tours, and the Saturday farmers’ market. Various churches, a convenience shop and a small tea salon are within walking distance.

Rarotonga Beach Bungalows offers complimentary use of: snorkeling equipment, kayaks, sun lounges, guest laundry, ironing facilities, guest parking, complimentary tropical breakfast, paperback library and a small guest lounge.

Information, advice and local bookings can be handled during normal working hours, from our reception/office.

Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa

In the immortal words of James Michener, these atolls are "among the most beautiful features of this Earth, and it’s no wonder they have lured many men." Aitutaki has captured the imaginations of many for hundreds of years. The legendary Polynesian voyager Ru made landfall on Akitua Island well over a thousand years ago.

The Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa is an exclusive getaway in the heart of the South Pacific. It is situated on our own private Akitua Island, and we are the only resort situated directly on the world famous Aitutaki Lagoon. From the resort, you can see firsthand the wonderful colors, deserted islands, expansive sand bars, and breathtaking views of what many consider the prettiest lagoon in the world.

We are the only Cook Islands resort featuring over-water bungalows. We were recently named "the resort" located on "the beach" by the prestigious Conde Nast Traveler magazine. The Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa is the perfect complement to a stay at its sister property, The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa in Rarotonga, just a brief 40 minute flight away.

The Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa offers a variety of island living options, and features private individual bungalows, including seven very unique and luxurious Overwater Bungalows. All of the private, thatched-roof bungalows feature air-conditioning, ceiling fans, TV/DVD player, CD player, private verandas with comfortable furniture, king or queen size bed, fully stocked mini-bar, in-room safe, hairdryer, coffee/tea making facilities, daily housemaid service and room service.

Feast on delectable Island Cuisine. Indulge in the bursting flavors of locally caught seafood, fresh tropical fruits and vegetables, and innovative island cooking. Relax with a cocktail at The Flying Boat Beach Bar & Grill, before enjoying an amazing meal under the stars. Enjoy fine dining at The Bounty Restaurant. Choose from a variety of Daily Specials, along with our regular menu. Our popular theme nights include Island Night (with local Aitutaki entertainment), Seafood Night and more.

Enjoy many complimentary activities at the resort, including snorkeling, sea kayaking, beach volleyball, guided hikes, cultural activities, and use of resort bicycles.

If you wish to explore the rest of Aitutaki, you can hire a motor bike or rental car from our activities desk. You can also arrange for scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and much more.

A visit to Aitutaki is not complete without a wonderful Lagoon Cruise. See the lagoon the way it was meant to be seen -- from a boat. Visit deserted islands, snorkel the crystal clear water, enjoy a sumptuous lunch, walk in knee-deep water between sand bars, and more. The Lagoon Cruise departs from the resort dock, and can be easily booked at the activities desk.
Indulge in our wonderful Spa Polynesia. Our extensive spa menu includes a wide variety of spa treatments, including massage, manicure/pedicure, facials, body scrubs/sea salt rub, body wraps, and a variety of beauty treatments using the finest local beauty products.
